Light guns AND Wiimote controllers use infrared LEDs to track the on screen movement of the controller. The IR LEDs for the Wiimote are built in to the Wii Sensor Bar. The gun tracking IR LEDs are located at the corners of the screen. Which ever you are using leave the matching LEDs turned ON, and turn OFF the other. If Wiimote and Gun leds are all left on there can be loss of tracking. The guns mostly behave with the Wiimote Sensor Bar turned on, but the Wiimotes track very poorly if the gun LEDs are left on.
